About the Ebac BD150

The Ebac BD150 is a heavy-duty building dryer for large jobs, from whole houses to commercial units and new builds. It moves a lot of air and can take out up to 82 litres of water a day in very wet conditions.

In new or part-finished buildings it dries plaster, screeds and timber at a controlled rate, so trades can stay on programme whatever the weather. The dual voltage version has circuit breaker and voltage protection, so connecting it to the wrong supply will not damage it.

Best for

  • Whole-house drying after floods or leaks
  • New builds and major renovations
  • Large open-plan and commercial spaces
  • Spaces up to about 300 m³

Questions about the Ebac BD150

How long will it take to dry my house?+

The manufacturer states it will normally dry a house within three weeks, and as little as one week in good conditions. We can take moisture readings to tell you when the job is actually dry.

Can I collect it myself?+

Because it weighs 75–80 kg, we deliver and set it up for you.

Does it have a pump?+

No. It drains by gravity from a high-level outlet, so the hose needs to run downhill to a drain. If that is a problem, ask us about the Dri-Eaz DrizAir 1200, which pumps its water away.

Is it loud?+

It is a big machine and runs at around 72 dB(A). It is best suited to empty properties or rooms that are not being slept in.

Do you deliver and collect?+

Yes. We deliver and collect across Wiltshire, Swindon, Bath, Bristol, Somerset and north Dorset, within roughly an hour of Trowbridge. We can set the machine up for you, or drop it off with instructions.

How long can I hire it for?+

By the day or by the week. Weekly hire works out cheaper, and most drying jobs need at least a week. Call us and we will advise how long your job is likely to take.

How much does it cost to hire?+

Call 07971 435221 or send an enquiry and we will give you a price for your dates, including delivery.

Is the machine checked before it goes out?+

Yes. Every machine is checked before each hire.

What if it stops working during the hire?+

Switch it off at the wall and call us. We will talk you through it or swap the machine.

Can you do the drying for me instead?+

Yes. We offer a full structural drying service with moisture readings and a drying report for your insurer. Structural and building drying

Safety information

  • Read the operating instructions supplied with the machine before switching on. If anything is unclear, call us first.
  • Keep the machine upright. If it has been laid on its side during transport, stand it upright for at least 30 minutes before switching on.
  • Plug directly into a suitable, undamaged socket. Do not use damaged leads, and if an extension lead is unavoidable, use a correctly rated one that is fully unwound.
  • Use an RCD-protected supply where possible.
  • Stand the machine on a firm, level surface, away from standing water.
  • Keep the air inlet and outlet clear. Never cover the machine or place anything on top of it while it is running.
  • Route power cables and drain hoses so they are not a trip hazard, and check the hose is not kinked or crushed.
  • Keep children and pets away from the machine.
  • Switch off and unplug before moving, emptying or checking the machine.
  • Indoor use only. Do not use the machine outdoors or expose it to rain.
  • If the machine makes an unusual noise, smells of burning, or stops working, switch it off at the wall and call us on 07971 435221. Do not open the casing or attempt repairs.
  • Where electrics may have been affected by flood water, do not use any sockets until they have been checked by a qualified electrician.

Specific to this unit

  • This machine weighs 75–80 kg. It is delivered and set up by us. Do not attempt to lift it, and always move it on its wheels on a level surface.
  • This unit drains by gravity. The drain hose must run downhill to a drain. If you use a container, check and empty it regularly.
  • It draws up to 8 A on 230V. Do not share the socket with other high-power appliances such as heaters.
  • It runs at around 72 dB(A). Consider where it is placed in an occupied home, particularly overnight.
