About the Dri-Eaz BD1000

The Dri-Eaz BD1000 is a professional building dryer made for construction sites and hire fleets. A steel chassis sits under a dent-resistant rotomoulded cover, and the anti-clog coil design copes well with dusty sites.

It switches automatically between 230V and 110V, so it works from a normal socket or site power. The built-in pump pushes water away through a 12.2 m hose, lifting it up to 2 m, so it can run unattended. Set the humidistat and it holds the level for you, while the hour counter and kWh meter show exactly how long it has run and what it has used.

Best for

  • Drying out after renovation, plastering and screeding
  • Water damage and leaks
  • Building sites running on 110V
  • Properties where there is no drain lower than the machine

Questions about the Dri-Eaz BD1000

Does it work on a building site's 110V supply?+

Yes. It switches automatically between 110V and 230V.

Do I need a drain nearby?+

The built-in pump pushes water through a 12.2 m hose and can lift it up to 2 m, so you can run it to a sink or drain in another room or upstairs.

Why are there different litres-per-day figures?+

Extraction depends on temperature and humidity. It removes up to 48 litres a day in very warm, wet air and around 42.6 litres a day at 30°C and 80% humidity. In cooler conditions it removes less.

Can I see how much electricity it has used?+

Yes. It has a built-in kWh meter and an hour counter.

Can I set how dry I want it?+

Yes, the humidistat can be set anywhere from 30% to 70% relative humidity.

Do you deliver and collect?+

Yes. We deliver and collect across Wiltshire, Swindon, Bath, Bristol, Somerset and north Dorset, within roughly an hour of Trowbridge. We can set the machine up for you, or drop it off with instructions.

How long can I hire it for?+

By the day or by the week. Weekly hire works out cheaper, and most drying jobs need at least a week. Call us and we will advise how long your job is likely to take.

How much does it cost to hire?+

Call 07971 435221 or send an enquiry and we will give you a price for your dates, including delivery.

Is the machine checked before it goes out?+

Yes. Every machine is checked before each hire.

What if it stops working during the hire?+

Switch it off at the wall and call us. We will talk you through it or swap the machine.

Can you do the drying for me instead?+

Yes. We offer a full structural drying service with moisture readings and a drying report for your insurer. Structural and building drying

Safety information

  • Read the operating instructions supplied with the machine before switching on. If anything is unclear, call us first.
  • Keep the machine upright. If it has been laid on its side during transport, stand it upright for at least 30 minutes before switching on.
  • Plug directly into a suitable, undamaged socket. Do not use damaged leads, and if an extension lead is unavoidable, use a correctly rated one that is fully unwound.
  • Use an RCD-protected supply where possible.
  • Stand the machine on a firm, level surface, away from standing water.
  • Keep the air inlet and outlet clear. Never cover the machine or place anything on top of it while it is running.
  • Route power cables and drain hoses so they are not a trip hazard, and check the hose is not kinked or crushed.
  • Keep children and pets away from the machine.
  • Switch off and unplug before moving, emptying or checking the machine.
  • Indoor use only. Do not use the machine outdoors or expose it to rain.
  • If the machine makes an unusual noise, smells of burning, or stops working, switch it off at the wall and call us on 07971 435221. Do not open the casing or attempt repairs.
  • Where electrics may have been affected by flood water, do not use any sockets until they have been checked by a qualified electrician.

Specific to this unit

  • On 110V, use a correctly rated site transformer.
  • Before moving the machine, use the manual purge to empty any water from it.
  • Run the drain hose fully uncoiled, with no more than 2 m of rise. Secure the end so it cannot pull out.
  • Store and transport upright. If it has been laid down, stand it upright for 30 minutes before use.
  • Weighs 39 kg. Move it on its wheels using the handle.
